Nesting boxes and insect hotels

Naturally Wedderbergen is not only a place for holidaymakers, but also for birds, bats and insects. That is why we have hung no fewer than 79 new nesting boxes throughout the site!

Titmice, starlings, nuthatches, tree creepers, stock doves and wrens will soon find a safe place to breed.
Several species of owls, as well as kestrels, will be able to raise their young in a peaceful environment.

Bats will have extra hiding places, allowing them to catch even more mosquitoes in the evening (which is beneficial for all of us!).
The insect hotels will help bees and other beneficial insects find a nice place to live.

In this way, we are gradually strengthening biodiversity in the park and contributing to a healthy natural environment full of life and sound.

Keep your eyes and ears open during your stay... who knows, you may soon see or hear the new residents of Wedderbergen!
