Collection of remarkable trees
The finishing touch at Natuurlijk Wedderbergen: over 55 unusual species of trees and shrubs.
Scattered across the grounds of Natuurlijk Wedderbergen, you’ll see young and new trees and shrubs everywhere. Each tree has been carefully selected by dendrologists and comes from different nurseries. The themes of climate resilience, scent, colour and experience are central, and you’ll soon see why!
Ever heard of Gagel? This protected shrub species gives off a wonderful scent. In the past, when clothes were washed less frequently, people would place sprigs of Gagel between the sheets and clothes to give them a fresh, herbal scent. You’ll find (and smell) the planted Gagel along the water’s edge near the IJsvogel fields.
One of the most remarkable trees, the ‘Nyssa Sylvatica’, will soon be attracting plenty of attention with its spectacular deep red, orange and yellow colours!
Also well worth seeing is the ‘Salix Bullata’, which, with its branches resembling little clouds, will soon become a truly playful, green eye-catcher!
